NO BIBLE STUDY AM OR PM WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23RD.

The last session for Academic Excellence (tutoring) and Youth Bible Study was Wednesday, June 2, 2010.  Please stay tuned for further announcements about summer activities with the Youth Department.

The S.O.A.R. Committee will be rewarding students for their hard work this school year. Please turn in your 2009-2010 Report Card in the box outside the sanctuary by Sunday, July 11th. If there are any questions please see Sister Gayle Broome, Youth Director.

Mt. Pleasant members if you or someone you know have skills in, balloon art, face painting, drawing characters, art skills, or craftsmanship please see Rev. Trina Wilson.

To: All 6th, 7th, 8th graders

The Twenty-first Century Scholars program makes it possible for low- and moderate-income Hoosier families to pay for college when the day comes. Applications are due June 30, 2010.  Students are eligible if they meet the following requirements:

- Family must meet income qualifications.

- Students must enroll by their 6th, 7th or 8th grade year.

- Students must graduate from an accredited Indiana high school with a diploma and at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.

Students must abstain from the use of alcohol, drugs or committing a crime.

Students must apply for college admission.

Students must complete their FAFSA forms on time.

 

Students and their parents must complete and return the application by June 30 of the student’s 6th, 7th or 8th grade year.  Students who meet the requirements are eligible for the cost of four years of undergraduate college tuition at any participating public college or university in Indiana.  Please check the website for complete details on the program.  For more information, visit http://www.in.gov/ssaci/2345.htm

The Dance and Arts Ministry Department Father's Day Car Wash will be on June 26, 2010 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm here in the church parking lot.  Thank you in advance for you continued support.

Attention all men of Mt. Pleasant.  It's time to get ready for Men's Day.  Have you ever wanted to sing with the Men's Choir?  Well here's your chance.  The Men's Day Choir will practice this Tuesday June 22 at 7:30pm and Saturday June 26 and 4pm.  So come on out men and step up for Men's Day 2010. Please see Deacon Murray or Shelvy Keglar Jr.  All men are asked to stay for a brief meeting following service.

Just a reminder, the Brotherhood meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  We have already selected officers for 2010 and are now in the planning stages for local and community wide activities.  Please congratulate the following members for stepping up and taking an active leadership roll within the Brotherhood auxiliary:

The Nora Wood Missionary will no longer accept clothing or any other articles until further notice.

Parents if you drop your children off for Sunday School or Bible Study we expect them to be in class and not hanging out in the sanctuary on Sundays or the fellowship hall on Wednesday nights.  If they are going to be here we expect them to participate.  Rev. Terry D. Frierson.

Divine Inspiration Dance Ministry and Silent Revelations Mime Ministry will start their new season.  The mime ministry is open to youth and adults ages 10 years and up and practices are Thursdays at 6:00 pm.  The dance ministry is for adults 18 years and up and practices are Saturdays 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.  If you have any questions, see Sis. Attention all high school students and parents. Under the Youth Department Sister Robbia Keglar and Sister Carla Maul are starting a Pre-college Scholarship Committee.  The goal is to assist families in obtaining scholarships and getting the money needed to graduate from college with little or no debt.  Look for our first meeting date in next week’s bulletin.

Church Van Drivers Needed: Drivers are needed to pick members up for 9a.m and 11a.m. services. A CDL license is needed for further information please see Deacon Charles Bruce (345-0281) or Rev. Terry Frierson.

Nursery services are available for children 5 and under.  For 9:00 a.m. services, we ask that you notify the Deacons or call the church in advance.  Only parents are to sign children in and out.  Snacks and activities are included.  Please bring diapers, extra clothing, or special needs.
